Punjab's Kewal Dhillon lauds Amritsar Easy Connect linking to 27 cities

The Indian government and Air India have launched the “Easy Connect” service at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar. The new arrangement allows passengers to complete immigration and baggage check‑in before boarding international flights via Delhi, linking Punjab with 27 destinations such as Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, London, Birmingham, Melbourne, Sydney and Dubai under a hub‑and‑spoke model.

Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon praised the initiative as a historic gift for the state’s large NRI community, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu. He said the system will cut queue times and terminal transfers, especially helping senior citizens, women and children, and is expected to boost tourism, trade and cultural exchanges for Punjab.
