Puppet theater performances scheduled for Baku

The Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre will premiere the play “The Little Traveler” on November 16. Based on the work “How I Became a Traveler” by Belarusian playwright and director Dmitri Bogoslavsky, the production follows a young boy’s journey of discovery. The play aims to teach children that achieving dreams requires not only courage and imagination but also knowledge and preparation in subjects like geography, mathematics, and foreign languages.

Additionally, as part of the Baku International Art Festival (BIAF-2026), the Tbilisi Marionette Theatre presented the play “Alfred and Violetta” at the Heydar Aliyev Center. Inspired by Alexandre Dumas fils’ novel “The Lady of the Camellias” and Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “La Traviata,” the performance showcases the artistic legacy of Georgian artist Rezo Gabriadze. The production depicts a love story between an astronomer and an orphan set in Tbilisi.
