Purdue prepares for rivalry matchup against Illinois

Purdue prepares for a rivalry matchup against Illinois this Saturday. Both teams enter the game seeking defensive improvements after struggling in recent weeks.

Illinois head coach Bret Bielema recently moved on from defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck following a 42-point loss to Ohio State. The Illini coaching staff will manage defensive responsibilities as a group until a replacement is named. On offense, Illinois is led by fifth-year senior quarterback Katin Houser, who has recorded 1,021 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions through the first four games of the season.
