Putin and Trump may meet at APEC summit in China, Kremlin says

The Kremlin has indicated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may hold face-to-face discussions during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China this November.

Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov stated that if both leaders attend the summit in Shenzhen, a meeting and discussion would be “inevitable.” While no formal plans have been established, Polymarket currently estimates the probability of such a meeting at 45%. The two leaders last met in person in Alaska in August 2025, having communicated only via telephone since that time.

The APEC summit is scheduled to take place from November 18–19.
