Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met in Turkmenistan on October 8, 2026, on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit. During the meeting, Putin pledged that Russia is prepared to do everything within its power to assist in resolving the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
