Putlos training area hosts military-civil emergency exercise

Military and civil emergency services conducted a joint training exercise titled ‘Schneller Retter 2026’ at the Putlos training area in Oldenburg, Germany. Organized by the Bundeswehr fire brigade, the exercise focused on managing large-scale damage scenarios.

Participants included the 4th Fire Protection Readiness of Schleswig-Holstein, the Technical Emergency Management of KFV Ostholstein, the DRK Ostholstein district association, and the THW Plön local unit, alongside the Pinneberg District Fire Brigade Association. The Pinneberg district disaster management authority also attended as an observer.

The simulation involved approximately 60 personnel responding to a scenario involving an aircraft crash. Practical training tasks included technical rescues, such as extracting a person from a vehicle trapped under fallen trees, and managing a fire in a facility with people trapped inside.
