Putrajaya road closures announced for National Day celebrations

Various roads and bridges in Putrajaya will undergo phased closures to facilitate rehearsals and the main event for the 69th National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.

Rehearsals scheduled for August 26 to 28 will see the full closure of Persiaran Perdana between Jalan Kemerdekaan and Lebuh Bestari. On August 28 and 29, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM, eight routes including Dataran Putra, Persiaran Perdana, and Laman Perdana will be affected.

For the main event, a full closure of the Core Island will occur from 5:00 AM on August 30 until 6:00 PM on August 31. This includes the closure of five bridges: Jambatan Seri Wawasan, Jambatan Seri Saujana, Jambatan Seri Gemilang, Jambatan Putra, and Jambatan Seri Ehsan. Residents of Core Island and Precinct 18 will only have access via Jambatan Seri Bestari and Jambatan Seri Setia.

Authorities advise the public to plan journeys in advance and utilize free shuttle bus services. Additionally, drone flights without authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia are prohibited in the area.
