Preparations are underway for Malaysia’s 69th National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya, involving significant adjustments to transport and traffic management.

Rapid KL announced that rail and bus services, including the LRT, MRT, and Monorail, will operate 24 hours a day from August 30 to August 31. To accommodate the expected surge in passengers, train frequencies will be increased, and 103 free shuttle buses will be deployed to assist commuters traveling to celebration sites. Over 5,000 frontline workers will be stationed to manage crowds.

Simultaneously, authorities have scheduled phased road and bridge closures in Putrajaya. Rehearsals between August 26 and August 28 will affect Persiaran Perdana, while further closures are planned for August 28 and 29. For the main event, the Core Island will face a full closure from the morning of August 30 until the evening of August 31, impacting five bridges. Residents in specific areas will be restricted to access via Jambatan Seri Bestari and Jambatan Seri Setia. Unauthorized drone flights are also prohibited in the vicinity.
