PVEM focuses on candidate selection and Mexico City Metro funding
The Ecological Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) is addressing internal political shifts and infrastructure needs. In Querétaro, state leader Ricardo Astudillo Suárez announced that the party will tighten its candidate selection process for the 2027 elections. This decision follows local deputy Gina Guzmán’s move to join the Morena party, a transition Astudillo Suárez learned about through media reports rather than direct notification.
Separately, federal deputy Mayra Espino Suárez has proposed an agreement urging federal and local governments to allocate resources for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Mexico City Metro. The proposal specifically prioritizes Line A, citing critical issues such as differential sinking, geological cracks, rail misalignment, and drainage deficiencies. Technical diagnostics suggest an investment of approximately 6 billion pesos is required to address the hydraulic, structural, and electrical failures affecting the line.
