PWHL championship trophy goes missing during transit to Alberta

The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has reported that a replica of the Walter Cup championship trophy went missing while in transit to Alberta, Canada. The league stated the trophy “did not arrive as expected at its latest stop” and confirmed they are working with a shipping company to locate it.

The missing item is a sterling silver replica belonging to the Montreal Victoire, the league's first Canadian championship team. This replica is intended for the winning team to keep, while the original trophy remains permanently housed at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.

The trophy was scheduled to be in Lethbridge, Alberta, for a public event featuring Victoire forward Dara Greig. However, the event was postponed after the shipping container arrived without the trophy inside. The replica is described as weighing approximately 35 pounds and being designed by Tiffany & Co.
