PWHL championship trophy disappearance and recovery

Overview

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) reported that a sterling silver replica of the Walter Cup went missing during transit to Lethbridge, Alberta. The trophy, a 35-pound replica designed by Tiffany & Co. intended for the Montreal Victoire to keep, “did not arrive as expected at its latest stop.” The loss resulted in the postponement of a public event featuring Victoire forward Dara Greig.

By August 24, the PWHL announced that the trophy had been found and reunited with the team. The league clarified the item was “lost in shipment” and expressed gratitude to those who assisted in locating it, noting that “even the Walter Cup can have a little offseason adventure.”
