PWI Aceh leadership candidates begin registration for 2026-2031 term

Candidates have begun the registration process for the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Aceh Provincial Conference for the 2026-2031 period. Muhammad Saman, a former Deputy Secretary of PWI Aceh and current Editor-in-Chief of Infoaceh.net and Harian Aceh, has officially registered his candidacy.

Three individuals have now taken steps toward candidacy: Muhammad Saman, Nasir Nurdin, and Sayuti Achmad. Sayuti Achmad was represented by Hendro Saky, the Chairman of JMSI Aceh, during the initial form collection.

To qualify, candidates must meet specific requirements, including securing support from at least 10 percent of regular PWI Aceh members, distributed across a minimum of five regencies or cities. Based on the provisional voter list, this requirement equates to approximately 32 members out of an estimated 320 voters. The official registration period is scheduled to run from October 5 to October 24, 2026.
