Megasztár and X-Faktor feature plagiarism claims and standout performances

Recent episodes of the Hungarian talent shows Megasztár and X-Faktor have featured significant drama and standout performances. In Megasztár, 17-year-old contestant Guba Imre faced plagiarism allegations after performing a song he claimed was an original composition dedicated to his mother. Musician Csík László publicly contested this, stating the song was actually his 2019 work, ‘Gyere, apa, igyunk most egyet’, with only minor lyrical changes made. TV2 is currently investigating the matter.

Other notable Megasztár moments include the return of former contestant PYFU (Majthényi Zsombor) to support fellow musician Julio (Olasz Gyula), who performed an original piece that earned immediate praise from judge Marics Peti.

In X-Faktor, 14-year-old Anna Sára Kovács delivered a highly emotional performance of ‘Gubik Petra Ez a vonat, ha elindult, hadd menjen’, receiving a standing ovation and unanimous approval from the judges, including Majka, Gáspár Laci, and Solére.
