Qantas to launch nonstop Sydney-London flights with new wellbeing zones
Qantas is preparing to launch ultra-long-haul nonstop flights under its "Project Sunrise" initiative. The airline plans to introduce direct routes between Sydney and London, starting in October 2027, and later between Sydney and New York.
To accommodate these flights, which can last up to 22 hours, Qantas will utilize specially modified Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft. A key feature of this service is the introduction of a "Wellbeing Zone" designed to improve passenger comfort and health during extreme flight durations. Sarah Udy, Executive Manager Product and Service at Qantas, stated that the "Wellbeing Zone" is one of the greatest innovations in cabin design, aiming to rethink the travel experience for long-distance journeys.
