Qatar condemns Israeli attack on Lebanese army patrol on Khardali‑Nabatieh road

The State of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning an Israeli strike on a Lebanese Army patrol traveling the Khardali‑Nabatieh road. The attack killed two officers and a soldier. Qatar described the incident as a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a breach of international law, and called on the international community to hold Israel accountable and to fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The condemnation came amid heightened regional tension after Iran launched seven ballistic missiles that entered Kuwaiti airspace and were largely intercepted by Kuwait’s air defence and U.S. forces. The United States also reported downing Iranian drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz and conducting retaliatory strikes on Iranian radar sites. These developments underscore the broader volatility affecting the Gulf and the eastern Mediterranean.
