Qatar mediates potential Iran-US negotiation resumption

Qatar is actively mediating discussions regarding the potential resumption of negotiations between Iran and the United States. Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that for approximately two weeks, Qatar has been exchanging various ideas and utilizing mediation teams to communicate with both Tehran and Washington to explore the possibility of renewed talks.

Al-Ansari noted that U.S. officials have provided assurances that Washington is seeking to reach an agreement. The Qatari government emphasized the need for a regional solution to ensure stability and an international understanding to protect vital waterways, specifically mentioning the Strait of Hormuz.

In a separate context, Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, commented on the geopolitical situation, suggesting that Tehran has adjusted its strategy toward Washington following the U.S. withdrawal from previous understandings. He also noted that Iran has recently tested an anti-ship missile in proximity to a U.S. aircraft carrier.
