Estudiantes eliminates Flamengo to reach Copa Libertadores final

Estudiantes de La Plata secured a place in the Copa Libertadores final after defeating Flamengo in a penalty shootout at the Maracanã stadium. Following a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Argentina, the match remained scoreless through regulation time, leading to the decisive penalty kicks.

Argentine goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was the standout performer, saving three penalties to seal the victory for the visitors. Flamengo, despite having a man advantage for much of the second half following the expulsion of Estudiantes' Baltasar Rodríguez, failed to convert their opportunities into goals. Only Arrascaeta and Léo Pereira successfully converted for the Brazilian side.

With this win, Estudiantes will face Palmeiras in the tournament final, which is scheduled for November 28 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay. Palmeiras previously advanced to the final by defeating Fluminense in a penalty shootout.
