Qatar urges global pressure on Israel after Hamas accepts Gaza disarmament roadmap
Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister Mohamed bin Abdulrahman called Hamas political bureau chief Khalil Al‑Hayya, congratulating Hamas on accepting the roadmap for the second phase of the Gaza cease‑fire and saying the step could end the suffering of the Palestinian people in the enclave.
He urged the international community to pressure Israel to fulfil its obligations, withdraw its forces, allow continuous humanitarian aid and support a stabilisation force. The call follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a disarmament agreement for Hamas and UN Secretary‑General António Guterres’ comment that it is the only good news in recent days, while Israel’s security minister Itamar Ben‑Gvir has rejected the draft for the next phase.
