Qazalhesar Prison Inmates Continue 13-Day Strike Over Executions in Iran

Inmates at the two Qazalhesar prisons in Karaj, Iran, have maintained a protest for the thirteenth consecutive day. The strike began on 22 Tir (early July) after six death‑row prisoners were moved to solitary cells ahead of scheduled executions. Prisoners have gathered in a hall, refused to receive meals, and continue a hunger strike to oppose the executions, especially those linked to drug‑related offenses. Video footage released by the human‑rights news agency HRA‑News shows the ongoing sit‑in and the inmates’ determination to keep the protest alive.
