Qena Authorities Conduct Intensive Food Supply Inspections, Cite 25 Violations

On July 25, 2026, officials in Qena, Egypt carried out a large‑scale food‑supply inspection campaign. The operation was led by Hassan Al‑Qat, deputy minister of supply and internal trade for Qena, under directives from Minister of Supply Dr. Sherif Farouk and Governor Dr. Mustafa Al‑Bablay.

Inspectors visited municipal bakeries and other supply outlets. They recorded 25 violations at bakeries, including production of bread that did not meet specifications, under‑weight loaves and hygiene shortcomings. Additional infractions were found at supply shops, such as failure to display prices, lack of mandated ration items and the presence of closed stalls. Bakery owners were warned and legal measures were announced, while officials said they will continue surprise inspections to ensure compliance and protect consumers.
