Qiddiya Speed Park: New $500M F1 circuit under construction in Saudi Arabia
Construction is underway for the Qiddiya Speed Park in Saudi Arabia, a $500 million Formula 1 circuit designed by engineer Hermann Tilke with assistance from Alexander Wurz. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the track is located within Qiddiya City and is intended to replace the current Jeddah Corniche Circuit as the host of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The circuit features 21 corners, 80 garages, and a projected top speed of approximately 320 km/h (201 mph). A central feature of the design is ‘the Blade’, a dramatic first corner that rises roughly 60 to 70 meters into the air, equivalent to a 20-story building. The space beneath this elevated turn is designed to house a concert venue.
