Qiddiya Speed Park circuit development

Overview

Saudi Arabia is developing the Qiddiya Speed Park Track, a major Formula 1 project located within the Qiddiya City entertainment complex near Riyadh. Part of the Public Investment Fund’s Vision 2030 strategy, the circuit is designed by Hermann Tilke and Alexander Wurz to eventually replace the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on the Formula 1 calendar.

The project features a central architectural element known as ‘the Blade,’ a suspended or elevated curve positioned approximately 60 to 70 meters above a concert venue. The circuit is expected to include 21 curves, 80 garages, and top speeds exceeding 320 km/h.

While initial estimates placed the investment at approximately $480 million, later reports value the project at $500 million. Construction is currently underway with a scheduled completion date of 2028.
