Quadri Aruna endorses Eko 2026 National Intermediate Games

Quadri Aruna, the prominent African table tennis player, has endorsed the inaugural National Intermediate Games, known as Eko 2026. The multi-sport event is scheduled to take place in Lagos from October 1 to 15, 2026.

Organizers expect more than 15,000 athletes to participate in the maiden edition, which will feature 28 sports across 10 different venues. The competition is designed to serve as a developmental bridge between grassroots school sports and the National Sports Festival, aiming to identify and nurture emerging talent.

During a visit to the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, Aruna emphasized the importance of returning to grassroots sports to restore Nigeria’s sporting prestige. He encouraged young athletes to use the platform to transition from amateur competition to professional success.
