Qualcomm Snapdragon C chip targets budget laptop market
Qualcomm is developing the Snapdragon C chip, which aims to make budget laptops priced around €300 viable by 2026 through a combination of efficient performance and high energy savings.
The Snapdragon C SoC features an eight-core Qualcomm Kryo CPU based on Arm architecture, with a single-core boost clock of 3GHz and an all-core boost clock of 2GHz. To maintain low power consumption, the chip utilizes LPDDR4X and LPDDR5X memory, supporting speeds up to 6,400 MT/s.
Additional hardware includes an integrated Adreno GPU with a 900MHz boost clock and a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU designed to handle light artificial intelligence workloads.
