Quandela brings photonic quantum computing to Canada

French startup Quandela has joined the Quantum Computing Sandbox in Canada, providing access to photonic quantum computing services. Through an agreement with CMC Microsystems, the manager of the federal FABrIC network, Quandela will offer photonic architecture that allows researchers, SMEs, and academic teams to test algorithms while keeping all data and computations hosted locally within Canada.

The initiative, supported by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, aims to accelerate quantum adoption in sectors such as materials, chemistry, logistics, finance, health, and defense. This addition to the sandbox provides an alternative to existing superconducting and ion-trap technologies by introducing a different physical approach to information coding.
