Quandela photonic quantum computing expansion

Overview

French startup Quandela has expanded its presence in the Canadian quantum computing sector. Initially, the company joined Canada’s Quantum Computing Sandbox through an agreement with CMC Microsystems. This partnership provides researchers and various industries with access to photonic quantum computing services, allowing for local hosting of data and computations to accelerate technology adoption.

Subsequently, Quandela partnered with NVIDIA to introduce a technical framework for integrating quantum processing units (QPUs) into existing artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructures. This architecture uses NVIDIA NVQLink to connect GPU environments with a Quantum System Controller, allowing the QPU to act as a specialized accelerator. The framework enables developers to simulate quantum algorithms on GPUs via the NVIDIA CUDA-Q platform before deploying them to Quandela’s photonic hardware.
