Quang Ngai dispatches K53 Team to recover martyr remains in Laos and Cambodia

The Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has officially dispatched the K53 Team to Laos and Cambodia for a mission to search for and collect the remains of fallen martyrs. Scheduled for the 2026–2027 dry season, the team consists of 67 officers and soldiers divided into three groups operating in southern Laos (Champasac, Attapư, and Sê Kông) and the Ratanakiri province of Cambodia.

The mission aims to recover at least 20 sets of remains, working in coordination with local authorities and armed forces in Laos and Cambodia. This initiative is part of the '500-day campaign' to honor national traditions of gratitude.

In a related development, authorities in Dak Lak successfully recovered the remains of martyr Nguyen Van Giai, a native of Quang Ngai, who died over 50 years ago. The recovery was made possible through the long-term memory of a fellow veteran, Do Tan Tai, who provided information regarding the location where Giai and his comrades were lost to a mine in 1972.
