Infrastructure development in Quang Ninh is advancing through two major projects. The province has reported that over 50 hectares of land have been handed over for the $5.6 billion Hanoi – Quang Ninh high-speed railway project, which is being invested in by VinSpeed. Local authorities aim to complete land clearance for the project by September 30, 2026.

Additionally, Quang Ninh has proposed a new 55km expressway to connect the Hai Phong – Ha Long expressway to the Hanoi Capital Ring Road 5. This proposal aims to integrate the province into a strategic regional infrastructure network. The broader Ring Road 5 project, which spans seven northern provinces, has an estimated investment of over 288 trillion VND and is intended to connect major urban, industrial, and logistics centers in Northern Vietnam.
