Quang Ninh City General Hospital performs successful kidney transplant

Doctors at Quang Ninh City General Hospital successfully performed a kidney transplant using organs from a 45-year-old man, Mr. B. C. T., who was declared brain dead following a traffic accident on September 16.

Following the accident, the patient suffered from multiple traumatic shocks, including brain and chest injuries. After medical efforts failed to save him, his family consented to organ donation. To ensure the success of the procedure, hospital leadership conducted an online consultation with experts from Viet Duc University Hospital to evaluate the organs and develop a transplant plan.

The recipient, 33-year-old H. Q. D. from Quang Yen, suffers from end-stage renal disease and has been undergoing regular dialysis for two years. The transplant offers him the opportunity to move beyond dependence on dialysis machines.
