Quang Ninh unveils strategic development plans and approves VND 45 trillion in projects
Quang Ninh province announced a series of strategic planning documents that set out its development vision through 2050 and 2075. The new initiatives include an updated provincial plan, a master urban plan that recognises Quang Ninh as a Class I urban area, and specific plans for the Van Don international airport, the coastal economic zone of Quang Yên, and other infrastructure. The province aims to build a modern, multi‑center urban model linked with Hai Phong, Bắc Ninh, Hanoi and the northern border region.
At the same conference, authorities approved investment certificates for 18 projects with a total pledged capital of roughly VND 45 000 billion (about US$1.9 billion). Projects span large‑scale industrial parks such as VSIP Quang Ninh, Green Bay Tech, and Bạch Đằng II, as well as renewable‑energy, tourism, logistics, organic farming and aquaculture initiatives. The approvals are intended to translate the strategic plans into concrete development and signal a strong, transparent investment environment for domestic and foreign investors.
