Overview

In early June 2026, Quảng Ngãi province approved a US$2.4 bn tender for two new urban districts within the Dung Quất Economic Zone, aiming to house thousands of residents and finish by 2037. A week later the province added four infrastructure, environment and energy projects, expanding the land‑auction programme to roughly 2,350 ha for six urban‑development schemes and setting a housing‑development plan through 2050.

By late June, Quảng Ninh announced a strategic framework to 2050, approving 18 projects worth about US$1.9 bn across industrial parks, renewable energy, tourism, logistics, organic farming and aquaculture. On 14 July the province began construction of the second phase of a 7‑km, six‑lane coastal belt road along Cửa Lục Bay, a 2.618 trillion‑dong highway slated for phase‑1 completion by August 2027, intended to boost land values and help transform the bay into an international‑tourism hub.

A week later the national push accelerated. Dong Nai city launched a rapid land‑clearance programme for eight key infrastructure projects, including the Metro Bến Thành‑Suối Tiên line, Long Thanh International Airport and a 13 km link to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4, targeting completion by 30 Sept 2026. Hue municipality announced a 2026 auction of sixteen parcels expected to generate over VND 2.4 trillion, while Can Thơ’s council approved a 16.7 km western beltway costing more than VND 10.6 trillion, scheduled for 2026‑2031. The Party Central Committee’s Resolution 21 also proposed a progressive tax to curb land speculation by 2030, signalling a broader strategy to align land use with Vietnam’s ambitious urban and infrastructure expansion.
