Quang Tri enhances transport infrastructure and railway tourism

Quang Tri province is implementing strategic infrastructure and tourism initiatives to enhance its multimodal transport capabilities and logistics competitiveness.

To strengthen east-west logistics corridors, the province is prioritizing the expansion of three key strategic routes: National Highway 15D, connecting My Thuy deep-water port to the La Lay international border gate; National Highway 9, connecting Cua Viet port to the Lao Bao international border gate; and National Highway 12A, connecting Hon La seaport to the Cha Lo international border gate. Specifically, the province has allocated approximately 1,940 billion VND to upgrade National Highway 15D, which aims to reduce the travel distance from 160 km to just over 70 km.

In the tourism sector, Quang Tri is working to improve the efficiency of the 'Hue - Phong Nha: World Heritage Journey' railway tourism product. Local authorities have directed the upgrading of road connections to Tho Loc and My Trach stations, with a completion target of December 2026. Efforts are also underway to diversify tourism service packages and implement demand stimulation programs in coordination with Vietnam Railways and local tourism associations.
