Queen Budapest concert film arrives in cinemas

The concert film ‘Queen Budapest’, documenting the band’s final complete live performance, is arriving in cinemas to mark the 40th anniversary of the July 27, 1986, concert at Budapest’s Népstadion. Recorded during ‘The Magic Tour’, the event was historically significant as the first time a Western rock band performed in a stadium beyond the Iron Curtain.

The film has undergone a 4K restoration using the original 35mm footage at Sir Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Production studios in New Zealand, accompanied by a new audio mix from original multitrack recordings. In Italy, the film is being distributed by Nexo Studios, with screenings scheduled in Udine at Visionario from October 7 to 11, and in Pordenone at Cinemazero from October 8 to 11.

Following the theatrical release, a soundtrack featuring hits such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ is scheduled for international release on November 6 in various formats, including digital, CD, and 3LP vinyl.
