Queen Budapest concert film to receive expanded IMAX screenings in Japan

The concert film ‘QUEEN BUDAPEST’ will receive an expanded encore screening across 47 IMAX screens in Japan from October 30 to November 2. The film captures the band's historic 1986 performance in Budapest, which was the first stadium rock concert by a Western artist held behind the ‘Iron Curtain’.

This version features a 4K restoration by Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Productions, utilizing original 35mm film shot with 17 cameras. The audio has been remixed for an immersive Dolby Atmos experience. The release marks the beginning of a formal partnership between Sony Music and Queen’s catalog.

Following the theatrical run, Sony Music will release the film in multiple formats on November 6, including Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD, digital streaming, and a three-disc analog LP set.
