Queen Silvia of Sweden visits Düsseldorf and Lake Constance
Queen Silvia of Sweden is conducting a visit to Germany, focusing on her former school in Düsseldorf and her philanthropic work at Lake Constance.
In Düsseldorf, the Queen will attend the inauguration of the new building for the Luisen-Gymnasium, where she completed her secondary education. The new 13,750-square-meter facility is designed to accommodate approximately 1,000 students. During this visit, she will also be honored with the ‘Preis für Kindeswohl 2026’ (Child Welfare Prize 2026) by the Regenbogenland Children and Youth Hospice Foundation and the Düsseldorfer Jonges local association, recognizing her long-term commitment to children's rights.
Additionally, the Queen will visit the Lake Constance region, including Konstanz and Mainau Island, to mark the tenth anniversary of the Mentor Foundation Germany. This foundation is part of the international Mentor Federation, which she co-founded with the WHO in 1994. Her itinerary includes attending a stage project premiere at the Bodenseeforum and participating in a celebratory ceremony at the Mainau Island Palm House.
