Queen's historic 1986 Budapest concert commemorated with 4K film release
The historic 1986 Queen concert in Budapest’s Népstadion is being commemorated through the digital remastering of the concert film ‘Live in Budapest’. The film, now available in 4K quality, will be re-released in cinemas worldwide starting October 7 to mark the 40th anniversary of the event.
László Hegedűs, the organizer who spent years working to bring the band to Hungary, has shared behind-the-scenes details regarding the logistics of the performance. The 1986 concert was a landmark event as it was one of the first times the band performed behind the Iron Curtain.
In celebration of the band's legacy and Freddie Mercury's upcoming 80th birthday, the Hungarian Rhapsody Queen Tribute band recently performed a tribute concert in Csaba. Led by singer Dávid Scheich, the performance recreated the hits from the original Budapest show for a new generation of fans.
