New York City police are investigating the death of 25-year-old Bryan Wong, an adult man with autism, who was found dead in his Woodside, Queens, apartment on Wednesday morning. Wong was discovered unconscious on a pull-out couch with multiple slash wounds to his wrists and the left side of his neck. His father discovered the body and called 911 around 8 a.m. EMS workers pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators recovered at least three knives from the residence, including one in the living room and two in the bathroom. The investigation follows an incident involving Wong’s mother, who was found around 4 a.m. lying in the street beneath the Van Wyck Expressway in Corona. A driver discovered her disabled gray Hyundai on the north side of the expressway. The woman, who sustained a fractured pelvis and femur, was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police recovered a note left by the mother regarding her son and his financial information. Law enforcement sources stated that detectives are treating the case as a potential murder and attempted suicide. The official cause of death is currently under investigation by the medical examiner.
