Queens murder investigation of Bryan Wong
Overview
On October 14, New York City police began investigating the death of 25-year-old Bryan Wong, an adult man with autism, who was found with multiple slash wounds to his wrists and neck in his Woodside, Queens, apartment. His mother was discovered later that morning after a fall from the Van Wyck Expressway; she was hospitalized in stable condition with a fractured pelvis and femur.
Investigators recovered at least three knives from the residence and a note left by the mother. While detectives initially treated the case as a potential murder and attempted suicide, authorities later charged the mother, 62-year-old Suk Kuen Wong, with murder and weapon possession. Neighbors described the family as quiet and close-knit, though some noted the mother appeared stressed. As of October 22, no arraignment date has been set as Suk Kuen Wong remains under medical treatment.
