Querétaro housing industry to address water and energy challenges

The National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry (CANADEVI) in Querétaro has announced the CANADEVI 2026 Housing Forum, scheduled for August 26 at the Querétaro Convention Center. The event aims to address the challenges of metropolitan growth, specifically focusing on urban development, water supply, and energy availability.

Félix Córdova Mendizábal, Vice President of CANADEVI Querétaro, noted that 50% of the chamber's members in the region are already implementing sustainable mechanisms in their real estate developments. These measures include water reuse systems, solar panels, and low-consumption sanitary fixtures.

The forum will feature three main panels, including a session with the mayors of the metropolitan area—Querétaro, Corregidora, El Marqués, and Huimilpan—to discuss regulatory reforms and coordinated urban planning. A key priority is improving water sustainability through reuse rather than solely seeking new sources.
