Querétaro urban development and sustainability planning

In Querétaro, industry leaders and technical experts are convening to address the infrastructure and sustainability challenges posed by rapid metropolitan growth.

Initially, the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry (CANADEVI) announced a housing forum focused on urban development, water supply, and energy availability. The chamber noted that 50% of its regional members are already implementing sustainable mechanisms, such as water reuse systems and solar panels. The forum aimed to facilitate discussion between regional mayors regarding regulatory reforms and coordinated urban planning.

Following this, the XVIII International Civil Engineering Congress and the 53rd National Meeting of the Mexican Federation of Colleges of Civil Engineers (FEMCIC) opened in the region. This event expanded the dialogue to include specialists and authorities discussing territorial planning, mobility, and urban resilience. Officials emphasized that metropolitan viability must be built upon five sustainability pillars: “soil, water, air, energy, and time,” stressing the need for technical criteria to support growth without compromising future generations.
