Querétaro Secretary of Culture expands funding and opens new gallery
The Querétaro Secretary of Culture is implementing strategies to mitigate budget restrictions by increasing participation in federal funding calls and institutional management. Secretary Ana Paola López stated that the department is focusing on linking with federal agencies to expand resources and projects for the state's artistic community, specifically targeting the creative economy to drive development.
As part of these efforts to expand exhibition spaces and connect artists with the public, the Secretary of Culture inaugurated the RAQ Gallery at the Querétaro Arts Center (CEART). The gallery, which is part of the Center for Integration and Linking for the Arts (CIVARTE), aims to utilize the Querétaro Artistic Registry (RAQ) to identify and connect local talent.
The gallery opened with the exhibition ‘Entre rostros’, featuring works by youth from the Center for Detention and Execution of Measures for Adolescents (CIEMA). The exhibition serves as an example of using art as a tool for social development and the construction of a culture of peace, with works available for public purchase.
