SEDIF expands social assistance programs in Puebla
The State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF) in Puebla is expanding its social assistance programs through community outreach initiatives. In the La Resurrección district, the ‘Jornada Por Amor a las Familias’ provided medical attention, social assistance, and food security support. During this event, 223 families received 909 food baskets through programs targeting vulnerable populations and early childhood, representing an investment of over 408,000 pesos.
In the Sierra Negra region, specifically in Tehuacán and Ajalpan, SEDIF conducted similar outreach to provide mammographies in coordination with the Breast Cancer Foundation (FUCAM). The agency also distributed food aid, community work checks for early education centers, and financial support for caregivers of cancer patients. Officials stated that more than 88,000 families across 26 municipalities are expected to receive support, with a total investment exceeding 147 million pesos.
These programs, led by SEDIF Director General Carlos Ochoa Rodríguez and Patronage President Ceci Arellano, aim to bring essential services—including dental, psychological, and disability certification services—directly to remote communities to reduce inequality and promote social welfare.
