Querétaro to implement security measures and diagnostics in schools

The Unidad de Servicios para la Educación Básica en el Estado de Querétaro (USEBEQ) and the municipality of Querétaro have launched a collaborative strategy to enhance safety and social inclusion in educational settings.

As part of this initiative, USEBEQ plans to install security scanning arches in approximately 100 secondary schools between December 2026 and January 2027. Irene Quintanar Mejía, head of USEBEQ, stated that the implementation will involve continuous work in sensitization and training for students, teachers, and parents. The procurement of equipment will follow official administrative and bidding procedures.

Additionally, the municipality of Querétaro will conduct a diagnostic study across 459 public basic education schools serving over 128,000 students. This assessment will focus on violence prevention, human rights, social inclusion, and family strengthening to develop targeted preventive actions within the school community.
