Quilmes conducts digital citizenship and online safety training

The municipality of Quilmes conducted a training session focused on digital citizenship and online environments. The initiative aims to provide tools to understand, prevent, and address issues in digital spaces, including virtual coexistence, the prevention of digital violence, and the promotion of rights.

The training aligns with the objectives of the ‘Ley Ema’ project, a provincial legislative initiative promoted by Deputy Mayra Mendoza. The project seeks to incorporate content regarding consent, privacy, digital rights, and the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence into school protocols. The law is named after Ema, a teenager who died by suicide following the non-consensual viralization of intimate images.

Local officials emphasized the importance of updating municipal and educational resources to address technological changes and digital violence through integrated strategies.
