Quilmes municipal security force launch

Overview

The Municipality of Quilmes has launched the Comando de Prevención Municipal Quilmes (CPMQ), a new local security force funded entirely by municipal resources.

Interim Mayor Eva Mieri stated the initiative aims to deploy approximately 300 officers in central areas, plazas, and school corridors. The creation of this command responds to the migration of over 130 officers from the Buenos Aires Province Police to the City of Buenos Aires due to higher salaries. The CPMQ intends to replace those lost and double the current street presence.

Local Security Secretary Gaspa De Stéfano noted that applicants must have prior experience in security forces, the penitentiary service, or the armed forces. More than 500 people have already applied for the positions.
