Quilmes marks 360th anniversary with citywide running event

The Argentine city of Quilmes is celebrating its 360th anniversary with a municipal running event scheduled for Sunday, 16 August 2026. The "Carrera Quilmes 2026" will start at 9 a.m. on Av. Cervantes between Iriarte and Álamos and offers three race formats: a 10 km competitive course, a 3 km "correcaminata" for recreational runners, and a 1 km children’s race.

Registration opens online on Thursday, 6 August at 14:00, and participants can collect their race kits on Saturday, 15 August from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Casa de las Culturas. The event aims to promote physical activity, community interaction, and the enjoyment of public spaces as part of the city’s anniversary celebrations.
