Quintana Roo hit by torrential rains, strong winds and high seas

Mexico's National Weather Service (SMN) and the National Water Commission (Conagua) issued alerts for heavy rainfall across most of the country on June 13‑14, 2026. In Quintana Roo, forecasts called for very intense rain with accumulations of 75‑150 mm, gusts of 20‑30 km/h and bursts up to 60 km/h, and coastal wave heights of 1.5‑2.5 m.

State Governor Mara Lezama urged residents and tourists to stay alert, avoid crossing swollen rivers or flooded roads, secure loose objects, and follow civil‑protection guidance. Authorities warned that the storms could trigger flash flooding, landslides, and minor damage from wind‑blown debris, and advised the public to use emergency numbers if needed.
