Quintana Roo primary economic activities grow 26.7 percent

Primary economic activities in Quintana Roo grew by 26.7 percent during the first quarter of 2026, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). This growth places the state in sixth place nationally among Mexico's 32 federal entities.

The sector, which includes agriculture, livestock, forestry, fishing, and hunting, showed significant recovery despite the state's economy being heavily concentrated in tourism and services. Quintana Roo's growth rate was nearly identical to Nuevo León's 26.8 percent and outperformed neighboring states such as Campeche, which grew by 13.7 percent, as well as Chiapas and Oaxaca, which both saw contractions.
