Two individuals, Dennis Patricio R. B. and Ángel Antonio N. Z., have been placed in preventive detention in Quito following their arrest for alleged large-scale marijuana trafficking.

The arrests occurred on September 16 in the Caupicho sector of southern Quito. According to reports, police officers acting on information regarding a bicycle-based drug dealer intercepted Ángel Antonio N. Z. after he allegedly handed a bag to a parked vehicle. Officers recovered 29 grams of marijuana from his possession and an additional 457 grams from the vehicle driven by Dennis Patricio R. B.

A judge has ordered preventive detention for both suspects, and the fiscal instruction period is set for thirty days.
