Quito: Two suspected ‘Los Lobos’ gang members found dead

The bodies of two men, identified as Jeremy Alfredo Jácome Buñay (alias ‘Gato Jeremy’) and 23-year-old Kevin Ariel Morales Mosquera, were discovered in a rural area of the Virgen de Papallacta sector, east of Quito.

Police reports indicate that both victims had been shot and Jácome Buñay also sustained a laceration to his neck. Authorities have identified both men as members of the organized crime group ‘Los Lobos’. Preliminary investigations suggest the killings are linked to criminal violence stemming from a territorial dispute between gangs over drug trafficking routes.

Jácome Buñay, the nephew of incarcerated individual Fabricio Colón Pico, had been arrested in August during a police operation but was recently released under alternative measures following a charge for unauthorized possession of weapons.
